Our History

The Salty Cum Dumpsters (SCD) are a EA Sports Hockey League (EASHL) Team founded in 2011 in Knoxville, TN. Inspired by the incredible 2011 Stanley Cup Finals run by the Boston Bruins, the guys went out and purchased EA Sport’s NHL11 for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The guys discovered the incredibly fun format of EASHL and created their first online team in Resse Hall at the University of Tennessee; the Salty Cum Dumpsters.

2011
The team started out small with Musselwhipe and Big Earl taking up the majority of the ice time as a dynamic duo. The boys studied the game and dived deep into film from 2BCProductions on YouTube via Canada. The guys let their good friend and Tampa Bay Lightning fan/enthusiast Fuhrburger Goocherov know about the team and he quickly joined. Fuhrburger brought hockey knowledge and a new level of speed to the game. Offense production increased and the windmill deke was made famous by the Gooch.

2012
Later added on was good friend and Chicago Blackhawk enthusiast Steak. Steak lagged behind in development with frustrations with the Settings and Camera angle options. A rulebook and Game Manual was issued to Steak and the team took off into a new era with a steady full time Right Wing.

The Salty Cum Dumpsters would end their NHL11 campaign with a Division 1 Pro Cup Championship with Musselwhipe and Earl making the All Star team for their respective positions. 

The “Brian Is Gay” Era (2013):

Musselwhipe, Earl, and Steak moved off campus with a closet gay with Fuhrburger contributing virtually. The boys geared up for a midnight release of NHL14 and a new era for the team. The guys saw their biggest success this year with nightly play, tight communication and gameplanning, and close team bonding with heavy drinking. 

The team found their identity choosing The Spokane Chiefs branding for the SCD. The team was attracted to the Right, White, and Blue team colors and the nod to the Native Americans who tended these lands prior to the establishment of the U.S.A. The team won multiple cup championships and earned time in the top divisions and won their first Eltie Cup Championship.
